Coronation Street and Emmerdale released a first look clip teasing the crossover episode

Coronation Street and Emmerdale have released a dramatic teaser trailer giving viewers an explosive preview of groundbreaking crossover soap episode Corriedale.

In the first look, it sees a multi vehicle pile up at the centre of the drama that sees the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale collide for one night only.

The atmospheric trailer shows the aftermath of the crash on a dark and stormy country road near the village of Hotten. Meanwhile, desperate voices can be heard calling for help in the darkness as the emergency services arrive.

Fans of both soaps will recognise them as David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Liam Cavanagh, and Aaron Dingle.

Coronation Street actors Jack P Shepherd and Kate Ford, plus Emmerdale’s Johnny McPherson join Danny Miller and Vicky Myers as names revealed to be amongst the cast of the one hour episode.

Taking to social media to react to the explosive trailer, eagle-eyed soap watchers were quick to identify one of the cars involved.

One person said: “Isnt that charitys car? The peugeot?” to which another responded: “yea that is charitys car!”

Elsewhere another viewer predicted: “John Sugden shall appear as there’s a Wanted pic of him in Corrie”.

Soap watchers also predicted that Belle Dingle will be involved as one person said: “Tonight Belle said she had secured a wedding in Manchester, then Debbie said she’s booked a young wedding planner”.

To which another viewer added: “Belle keeps mentioning Manchester and the wedding so that must be something to do with it” while a different fan added: “Last week Belle also said that she had a bridezilla who wanted a choir too.”

The special episode will air in early January 2026, as a celebration of the soap genre and will launch ITV’s new ‘soap power hour’ scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

ITV has teased: “Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets, and lies.

“Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!”

While the exact plot is being kept under wraps, it has been confirmed that Corriedale will be a one-off one hour spectacular.

Corriedale airs in early January 2026 on ITV and ITV X.
