Coronation Street has welcomed a new family on the cobbles

Coronation Street welcomed a new family on Monday’s episode and one of the star’s real-life brother is already on the cobbles.

Bobby Bradshaw, who portrays Jake Windass, is the elder brother of Aurora Bradshaw, who made her debut on the ITV soap on Monday night.

Bobby revealed on his Instagram that his sister would be joining the Corrie cast as Susie Price, the daughter of Catherine Tyldesley’s character, Eva Price.

He shared a photo of the new family, the Driscolls, featuring Susie, with the caption: “The news is finally out! ! !

“Congratulations to my little sister aurora! She is part of the new family and her first episode airs 27th October.”

And on Monday night, Bobby shared in another post: “The countdown is over today’s the day Aurora Bradshaw makes her debut as susie price make sure everybody tunes in at 8pm!!!”

While he went on to give a glimpse at a celebratory watch party for his sister, writing: “Aurora’s watch party. Only the best for the best! Tune in 8pm!

Long-time viewers will recall Susie is the baby Eva gave birth to in 2018. Upon discovering her pregnancy, Eva made an agreement with Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor) to hand over the child to her and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) following their surrogate’s miscarriage.

Toyah fabricated a birth certificate to ensure Peter remained unaware that Susie wasn’t born via the surrogate, reports the Mirror.

However, Eva found it difficult being separated from her baby, and ultimately, the pair reunited and have been living away from Weatherfield since 2018. However, Eva and Susie are now making a comeback.

The mother and daughter duo are settling into the Rovers Return with Eva’s new partner Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker). Ben purchased the iconic boozer as a romantic gesture for his partner.

Joining the household is Ben’s mum Maggie Driscoll, portrayed by former EastEnders star Pauline McLynn, they are also joined by Ben’s two sons from a previous relationship Will, played by Lucas Hodgson-Wale, and Ollie, who joined the cobbles earlier this year and is played by Raphael Akuwudike.

Coronation Street continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV and ITV X.
