Donald Trump has finally broken his silence after days of speculation about his health, as the former President took to his social media platform to address the rumours

Donald Trump has finally addressed the mounting speculation surrounding his health amid swirling rumours.

Rumours that the US President was dead started building towards the end of last week when it emerged that the President had nothing listed in his public diary and had not been spotted for several days. Following weeks of chatter about Trump’s appearance, health and mysterious bruising on his hand, the weekend saw speculation reach boiling point.

However, on Saturday, this online gossip was finally quelled after photographers snapped President Trump exiting the residence in a motorcade alongside his grandchildren, departing for a round of golf. Nevertheless, some social media users suggested that the images weren’t genuinely of him but rather of a lookalike or body-double.

In a short Truth Social message on Sunday evening, the president sought to quash concerns about his wellbeing – and even speculation that he had passed away towards the end of last week.

He declared: “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE.”

His statement came as a repost of another message from MAGA supporter and pundit, Rogan O’Handley, which promoted conspiracy theories regarding former President Joe Biden and his health whilst in office.

In his initial remarks, O’Handley made a string of baseless claims, including that former President Biden “was wearing diapers and napping” during his presidency.

He also alleged that “President Trump puts in more public work hours than any other POTUS in US history,” despite the MAGA figurehead’s record-breaking 378 days spent at golf courses during his first term alone – which amounted to over a quarter of his time in office.

According to Forbes, in his present term, Trump has spent a third of his time at properties he owns, such as his Mar a Lago resort in Florida.

Trump endorsed his response to that Truth Social post, whilst also bragging about his Washington, D.C., crime crackdown. He declared, “Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE!”.

He then went on a posting spree, with a number of written and picture posts, seemingly back to normal.

Trump was recently diagnosed with a condition known as chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), which impacts the veins and leads to reduced blood flow to the heart. CVI is not regarded as life-threatening, but can be uncomfortable and hinder daily activities.

However, some health experts have cautioned that if this condition worsens, it can severely impact a person’s legs and potentially lead to amputation.

A user on the r/conspiracy subreddit also shared one of the photographs, captioning the post “Trump Body Double” and outlining their reasoning for believing the individual pictured isn’t genuinely Trump.

They wrote: “Look at his photos today: Notice how he’s with two diminutive people (grandchildren) so that when people look at him, they can’t speculate accurately on his height?”

The redditor also referenced a Tyla article from June 26, which the poster claimed was the initial media reporting of the president’s supposed body double.

“Additionally, from the article, body doubles wouldn’t be used for high profile events but for ‘journey management’ aka…above,” they penned. “Additionally…dude in the photos doesn’t look like Trump. Straight up.”
