His party, La Libertad Avanza, raked in nearly 41% of the vote, taking 13 of 24 Senate seats and 64 of the 127 lower-house seats that were up for grabs.
Trump recently pledged a £30bn lifeline to the South American nation as long as his Argentine ally remained in power.
In a post on his platform Truth Social, Trump boasted: “BIG WIN in Argentina for Javier Milei, a wonderful Trump Endorsed Candidate! He’s making us all look good. Congratulations Javier!”
Milei previously sucked up to his North American pal by echoing one of Trump’s most famous phrases.
He said: “We must consolidate the path of reform we have embarked upon to turn Argentina’s history around once and for all… to make Argentina great again.”
Trump’s rivals were enraged by the bailout, with House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries branding it “corruption in real time” earlier this month.
He added: “It’s perplexing to us that Republicans refuse to spend a dime to protect the healthcare of the American people.
“But somehow the Trump administration found $40 billion to bail out a right-wing wannabe dictator in Argentina in ways that are also going to continue to hurt our soybean farmers in Iowa and in the Midwest. That’s outrageous.”
It comes after Milei announced he was nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He also addressed him as “Your Excellency” in a gushing letter to the US leader. Trump has also been boasting about “getting the best polling numbers that I have ever received” after winning “three elections” when he has only been elected twice.
He moaned on Truth Social that the “radical left losers” are using fake adverts to claim he is “polling at low levels”.
