President Donald Trump has denied writing a letter to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, claiming the media is “wasting their time” with the story and that “it’s not my signature”

President Donald Trump has refuted claims that he penned a letter featuring a sketch of a nude woman to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, stating that journalists were “wasting” their time focusing on the matter.

Trump’s remarks were made as he enjoyed a meal at a high-end steak and seafood restaurant in Washington, DC, marking what he deems a successful federal deployment on the city’s streets.

“It’s not my signature,” he declared, denying authorship of the letter. “And it’s not the way I speak. And anyone who knows me for a long time knows that’s not my language. And frankly you’re wasting your time.”

The president also stated that he had no intentions of meeting with Epstein’s victims, unlike other Republican lawmakers, such as Rep. Nancy Mace, who have done so in the past, reports the Mirror US.

“Nobody has suggested that. Certainly I don’t like that situation with respect to anybody being abused or hurt. But I haven’t even thought about that,” Trump expressed.

The controversial letter, purportedly sent in 2003, was initially reported by The Wall Street Journal in July. The exclusive story sparked significant backlash from the MAGA movement, who dismissed it as “fake news.”

The president subsequently filed a defamation lawsuit against the Journal’s parent company, publisher and two reporters.

Two months later, the letter was finally revealed by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee as part of a series of documents released on Monday, originating from a subpoena the GOP-led committee issued to the financier’s estate.

The letter in question features a sketch of a nude woman, with a dialogue between Trump and Epstein inscribed within. Trump’s signature is placed in the pubic region of the drawing.

“We have certain things in common, Jeffrey,” the letter states.

“A mate is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday- and may every day be another wonderful secret,” the document concludes.

However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has refuted the authenticity of the letter, asserting that the president “did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.”

The president himself has previously dismissed any claims of having signed the letter, labelling the entire Epstein saga as a “dead issue.

“I don’t comment on something that’s a dead issue,” Trump informed NBC News during a brief phone call on Tuesday morning. “I gave all comments to the staff. It’s a dead issue.”

The Epstein controversy has been a hot topic in Washington and among the MAGA community for several months, emerging as one of the most contentious issues within the Republican party. Despite this, Trump has consistently attempted to downplay the story and denied any association with Epstein in his final years.
