A week after president Donald Trump visited the U.K. on a state visit he has shared his thoughts about the trip and the Royal Family.

The US president touched down with the First Lady – after what he called a “great flight” – at Stanstead Airport on Tuesday evening last week amid protests at staged outside Windsor Castle by those furious that the 79-year-old has been allowed to return to the UK.

Turning to his Truth Social platform, Trump shared his review of his time in the U.K., which was co-hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla, writing.

He said: “It was great being with King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Royal Family!” Of course, we’re not all that surprised Trump enjoyed himself — with the Royal Family celebrating him for three days — but even so, it is cordial of him to share his gratitude in an official manner.

The post went up on Sunday at 10:49 a.m. and has received 20.9k likes and 3.79k shares. In addition to sharing his thoughts about the visit, Trump also shared four photos.

In addition to Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate were in attendance, along with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, whom Trump met with the following day. While Trump and Sir Keir spoke, Kate played host to Melania, with the Princess of Wales and First Lady making a visit to Frogmore Gardens.

The last state visit by a monarch was in 2007, when Queen Elizabeth II made a visit with President George W. Bush hosting. If Charles and Camilla are invited and the royal couple accepts, this would be Charles’s first U.S. state visit as monarch.
