A woman is in serious condition after an attacker is believed to have doused her with petrol and set her alight at a property in Oak Downs, Clondalkin, Dublin this morning

A woman is critically ill in hospital following a horrifying assault where it’s suspected she was doused in petrol and set on fire. The incident happened at the base of a property in Dublin.

The victim was rushed to hospital after the shocking daylight attack occurred at a residence in Oak Downs, Clondalkin, this morning (November 25). She has been admitted to Tallaght Hospital, where her condition is reported as serious.

Gardaí are currently at the scene, which has been cordoned off for technical investigation, reports the Irish Mirror. A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an incident room has been established In Clondalkin Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either incident to contact them.

Any persons who were in the Oak Downs area of Clondalkin between 9:30am and 10:20am this morning and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
