Emmerdale fans have spotted a stomach-churning blunder in Mackenzie Boyd’s bunker scene.

Soap favourite Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) is currently being held captive by killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in an underground room in the woods.

Last week, John attacked Mack after he worked out that John was the one who killed Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) last year and dumped his body into a lake.

Resorting to desperate measures to not let Mack get away, a tense showdown then took place in the woods, in which John shot Mack with an arrow, before appearing to kill him with a rock.

However, in a huge twist, it was revealed that a critically injured Mack is actually alive and is being held captive by John in a secret underground bunker in the woods.

At the start of the week, Mack attempted to win John over in a bid to let him go. However, the plan backfired when John caught him trying to attack him.

And in Tuesday’s episode (September 1) it was clear that Mack wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, despite John running out of medicine for Mack.

However, amid all the drama going down, fans have been left baffled by Mackenzie’s time in the bunker, with one person pointing out on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page: “Where does Mack go to the toilet? …. Never see John empty a bucket.”

Someone else added: “I always think that!!” Echoing their thoughts, a third chimed in: “Said that to my dad last night or how does he eat his hand are tied up.”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Mack actor Lawrence spoke out for the first time about the twist. The soap star said: “I’m glad the secret that Mack isn’t quite dead (yet) is over. I have felt slightly deceitful over the last two weeks when people have asked me about his death.

“Whilst I have enjoyed being somewhat of an enigma over that time, I’m really looking forward to seeing how the drama we shot is received on screen.”

He added, mentioning John Sugden star Oliver Farnworth: “Both Ollie and I really enjoyed shooting it, so hopefully the jeopardy of Mack’s position will keep the audience gripped!”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
