Beatles fans Stephen Ullah, 70, wife Bev, 62, and their children Stephen, 44, and Deon, 42, scooped more than £104,000 each after winning the EuroMillions draw

A ’Fab Four’ family syndicate is celebrating after scooping more than £400,000 on the EuroMillions draw.

Beatles fans Stephen Ullah, 70, wife Bev, 62, and their children Stephen, 44, and Deon, 42, will trouser more than £104,000 each.

The close-knit family, who run a local pub in Hull, Yorks, bagged £416,384 on the Lucky Dip.

And they kicked off their celebrations at a Beatles-themed hotel in Liverpool, ate at the world-famous Cavern club and visited the iconic statue of the Fab Four near the docks. Deon, whose favourite footie team is Liverpool, said: “We’re such big Beatles fans, so to celebrate in Liverpool – a city that we have so many family ties just made sense.

“We have so many memories already in Liverpool, including mum’s 50th at The Cavern and countless football days out, but this one tops them all. It really is a magical mystery tour moment for us.”

The winners started their National Lottery syndicate back in 2020 during the Covid crisis on Stephen Snr’s 65th birthday. And the family’s windfall almost didn’t happen after he forgot to buy the tickets.

Luckily, Beverley rushed out just minutes before sales closed to pick one up. She said: “I only just managed to buy the ticket in time – if I hadn’t nipped out at the last minute, we would have missed out completely.

“I checked the ticket the next day whilst the children and grandchildren had popped out. Once I realised we had actually won, I started running around the house dancing and screaming – Stephen thought I had gone crazy.”

And Stephen Jr plans to use his winnings to pay off his mortgage and buy a new car. Deon has treated herself to a high-spec motorhome and a new vehicle, while Beverley plans to snap up a new oven and enjoy more holidays.

Stephen Snr said: “We couldn’t believe it when we saw the numbers come up. We’ve always played as a family syndicate and said, ‘one day it’ll be our turn’, so to have actually done it is just incredible.”
