Gogglebox has returned with its 26th series and some new castmates will be joining the legendary Channel 4 family and sharing their takes on the latest TV moments
Gogglebox has announced some new castmates joining the beloved Channel 4 show.
The show is back with its 26th series, and this time some brand new faces will be on your TV screens. The award-winning show which has been running for thirteen years returns with the first episode of the new series on Friday (September 5) at 9pm on Channel 4.
And five new groups will be sharing their takes on the latest and greatest TV moments, alongside fan-favourites like Dave and Shirley, Giles and Mary, The Siddiquis and Jenny and Lee. First up are friends Jake, 27, and Callum, 31, from Glasgow.
We’ve also got the Gordon family from Surrey. The Gordons are comprised of 49-year-old Andre and 47-year-old Sarah, and their 25-year-old daughter Chee. Married couple Andrew, 62, and Alfie, 32, from the Cotwolds will also be seen on the sofa.
Mother and daughter-in-law Sara, 87, and Lara, 58, from Yorkshire are another duo set to deliver their telly verdicts. And finally, sisters Rosie, 68, and Susie, from Edinburgh have joined the line-up.
Mike Cotton, Creative Director, for Studio Lambert said: ‘‘It’s a delight to welcome some new households to the Gogglebox family. Along with our much loved returning cast, we can’t wait to join them in their living rooms and hear their candid thoughts on this weeks most talked about TV.”
They will join regular Goggleboxers Jenny and Lee, The Malones, The Siddiquis, Giles and Mary, Ellie and Izzi, David and Shirley, the Plummers, Amira and Amani, the Worthingtons, Pete and Sophie, Abbie and Georgia, Sue and Steve, Simon and Jane, Ronnie and Annie, Danielle and Daniella, Teresa and Anita and Michael, Sally, Jake and Harry.
The Channel 4 show has been nominated once again at the National Television Awards (NTAs). Gogglebox is up for the Factual Entertainment Programme category, where it’s already won six times.
Shirley and Dave took to Instagram to drum up votes from fans for this year’s NTAs. She said in a short clip: “Hi everyone, hope everybody’s okay.
“Just to let you know, the NTAs voting is open. We’d appreciate if you vote for us. Lots of love, Shirl and Dave.” The star signed off by blowing a kiss to the camera.
The couple were inundated with support from fans declaring they’d be voting for the show. One fan in the comments wrote: “Yes Shirley and Dave you’ve got my vote.. we love you so much [heart emojis].”
Another fan said: “You got my Vote, hope you are both well [heart emoji] xx.” A third commented: “We will vote for you shirl and Dave… you have us in fits of hysteria every time we watch you xxx”.
