Gorka and his co-stars from the BBC One dance contest are joining forces away from the ballroom.

Gorka Marquez’s reunion with his Strictly Come Dancing colleagues has been confirmed following a ‘bigger and bolder’ announcement.

The professional dancer has been signed up once again for the BBC One dance competition this year and appeared during the opening number of the first live show of the 2025 series.

Nevertheless, Gorka revealed back in August that he wouldn’t be partnered with a celebrity contestant this year as he was taking on another commitment that would keep him busy on Saturday evenings for the foreseeable future.

In 2024, the Spanish performer served as a judge on the Spanish edition of Strictly and he’s now returned to the judging position, but the programme now clashes with the UK version, whereas they didn’t overlap previously.

This means that Gorka chose to return to the judging panel, rather than taking part in Strictly this year, but was involved in the pre-recorded group performances scheduled to appear throughout this Strictly series and he’ll also return before this year’s programme concludes, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Announcing the news on Instagram, the 35 year old stated: “I am happy to announce that I will be back for season two of BAILANDO CON LAS ESTRELLAS as a judge from September.

“Due to the filming dates this means that I won’t be competing with a partner this year in Strictly but I will be a part of lots of the group numbers and will be back for final weeks of the show to support the rest of my fellow pros and their celebrities in what is going to be an AMAZING SERIES. As always thank you for all The love and support and remember! Keep dancing! ! !”.

However, whilst he’ll appear later in the year when Strictly’s 2025 series reaches its conclusion, he’ll return to the stage alongside some of his colleagues next year as the Strictly The Professionals live tour makes its comeback.

Following a short break, Gorka will team up with Julian Caillon, Vito Coppola, Neil Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Lauren Oakley, Jowita Przystał, Michelle Tsiakkas, Alexis Warr, Kai Widdrington, and Nancy Xu for the fresh production.

The reveal came on Wednesday (October 1) through the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour, which will also return early next year, organisation.

Accompanied by a video on Instagram, a statement declared: “Strictly The Professionals is back – bigger, bolder, and more breathtaking than ever. 11 world-class dancers from the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, a sensational live band, powerhouse vocalists, dazzling costumes, and show-stopping choreography – this is the ultimate night out.

“Starring: Julian Caillon, Vito Coppola, Neil Jones, Gorka Márquez, Luba Mushtuk, Lauren Oakley, Jowita Przystał, Michelle Tsiakkas, Alexis Warr, Kai Widdrington, and Nancy Xu. Tickets on sale 10am Friday 3 October!” Fans were swift to share their excitement. One user, @strictlys.

aves, exclaimed: “I’VE MISSED PRO TOUR YESSS.”

Another, @poppy. morrison_, enthused: “MY FAVOURITE TOURRR. I’m so happy it’s back! ! ! !” A third fan, @ashleigh_sarah_luckhurst, chimed in with: “Heart happy. So many of my faves especially @michelle_tsiak.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 6.55pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
