Paddy can show his power at Ayr on Wednesday, November 15, according to the Daily Star’s chief tipster and horse racing expert Jason Heavey

ALL eyes will be on DERRYHASSEN PADDY (2.50, trb) when he makes his eagerly awaited chasing debut at Ayr on Wednedsay.

The six-year-old already has some experience over fences having graduated from the Irish point-to-point field and what he achieved in his first four starts for Lucinda Russell suggests he has all the tools to make up into a top-class performer in this sphere.

Derryhassen Paddy bolted up in a bumper at Ayr in February of last year and maintained his unbeaten record with back-to-back wins over hurdles at Uttoxeter and Windsor last winter.

He met with defeat for the first time at the Cheltenham Festival but emerged with plenty of credit, picking up minor honours in third behind the classy Jasmin De Vaux.

An imposing individual, Derryhassen Paddy should make up into an even better horse over the larger obstacles.

WYENOT (1.30, nb) is taken to overturn hot favourite Joyeuse in the Yorton Mares’ Novices’ Chase at Bangor.

The Henry Daly trainee looked a decent performer over hurdles last season and looks the right sort to make the jump up.

The chestnut mare particularly caught the eye when winning at Doncaster last season.

And although the Irish Mares’ Champion Hurdle at Punchestown proved a step too far for her on her last racecourse appearance in May, this contest should be well within her capability.

Dan Skelton is such a canny operator and it is worth being on-side with him at the North Wales track.

His DISCO DAVIS (4.00, nap) should have all the right moves in the Greenhous DAF Handicap Hurdle.

The son of Doctor Dino needed the run on his re-appearance at Uttoxeter last month when fourth behind Dargiannini.

He is reunited with Harry Skelton here, who has won on him before, and should be able to see off his 10 rivals.

THE DOYEN CHIEF (2.00) is backed to pick up where he left off in the £40,000 Weatherbys And Birdie Calendars Handicap Chase.

Still lightly raced after only 10 starts under Rules, Alan King’s eight-year-old finished off last season with a flourish, scoring at both Kempton and Warwick in March before heading out for his summer break.

There could still be some mileage in his revised rating of 137 ahead of his return.
