Hotels in the UK have thrived this summer thanks to Oasis’ sell-out tour.

Occupancy rates in London, which has so far hosted five concerts by the Gallagher brothers, hit 89.9 per cent in July – the highest in six years – the RSM Hotels Tracker shows.

Elsewhere, occupancy rose from 85 per cent to 86.2 per cent as domestic and international tourists flocked to the gigs.

Chris Tate, of RSM UK, said: ‘It was a bumper July for the hotel sector. The Oasis reunion provided an added boost.’

Hoteliers also charged more, with average rates in London rising from £263.85 to £271.52.

More generally, they rose from £180.36 to £184.34.
