Kelly Brook’s real name might surprise you.
The Page 3 icon has touched down in Australia ahead of their stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. The 45-year-old glamour model arrived Down Under at the weekend.
The star from Rochester, Kent, has gone on to be named the world’s sexiest woman of the year by FHM, star in numerous films, and appear on the panel of Loose Women. However, she decided to make a change to her image in the early days of her modelling career.
“I did the first ever shots of her when she was only 16. I just thought ‘My God, this girl is amazing,'” said renowned Page 3 photographer Jeany Savage in 2001. Some girls come in and faff around but Kelly got straight down to it.
“She didn’t want to take her clothes off but I said ‘Come on, you’ve got a great body with natural boobs – show it off'”.
Although Kelly ticked all the boxes in the looks department, there was one thing Jeany was not keen on – Kelly’s surname. The model was born Kelly Ann Parsons – and it was Jeany who convinced her to change her name. “I also persuaded her to change her name from Parsons which sounded so awful to Brook,” Jeany revealed.
Speaking on her Heart FM radio show, Kelly also explained how she was bullied at school because of her name. “My real name is Kelly Parsons and they used to call me Smelly Parsnips because it rhymes,” she said.
Kelly has in the past also praised Jeany for giving her the “confidence to pose naturally.” She admitted: “Without Jeany I wouldn’t be where I am today. Jeany was always a bundle of fun and treated me like a queen.”
Kelly previously told how nasty trolls had branded her ‘unsexy’ because she no longer looks like a “pin-up girl in her 20s”. She explained: “They see me as this 40-year-old fat girl and they’re like no! I get it, it’s funny. But people grow up, people get bigger, people change, it happens.”
She also revealed on that sex gets better with age and partner Jeremy Parisi is a big fan of her curves. Speaking on Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To… podcast, she said: “My boyfriend is 35 and he is Italian, so, you know, he likes a nice large curvy woman so that’s always a good thing!
“I think your sex life gets better as you get older! You get confident! You are not so hung up on stuff. You know what you enjoy.
“You know what you like, so you are not as scared to tell them. When you’re young you don’t tell them. They are like ‘is that nice?’ or whatever and you’re like ‘yeah!’ When you’re older you are gonna make sure you get what you want!”
