I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is set to bring back a fan favourite to the ITV reality show.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! producers are reviving a beloved feature – the live trial.

The challenge is scheduled to make its comeback on the ITV reality programme this week. This marks the first occasion the live trial has appeared in the Australian jungle since 2019, though one did feature in the 2020 series held at Gwrych Castle in Wales during the coronavirus outbreak.

Programme makers have disclosed that this special challenge will be titled Cocktails of Cruelty and, true to its moniker, will involve a drinking contest pitting campmates against each other.

Certain details have been unveiled, with I’m a Celebrity hinting that “the stakes are high” and “the celebrities will definitely want to win this Trial”.

When the task commences, each star must choose two “delicious” jungle components that their head-to-head opponent will be required to consume.

The ITV programme’s presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly will signal when the celebrities can begin consuming their nauseating concoctions.

From that point onwards, it becomes a race, with the first famous face to finish their beverage and return their glass to the table claiming victory.

The programme’s live trial has proven popular with audiences throughout the years and has delivered some unforgettable I’m a Celebrity sequences, including Gillian McKeith collapsing on live television and Dean Gaffney arriving in the jungle as a late addition before immediately facing a challenge.

“All of these moments have gone down into I’m A Celeb folklore, what could 2025 bring?!” the broadcaster playfully hinted.

The last time viewers saw a live trial taking place in Australia was back in 2019, featuring celebrities such as Caitlyn Jenner, Jacqueline Jossa, Roman Kemp and Ian Wright.

This year’s line-up for the jungle includes rapper Aitch, footballer turned TV star Alex Scott, model and actress Kelly Brook, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp and television personality Ruby Wax.

Other stars joining them include soap favourites Lisa Riley and Shona McGarty, presenter Vogue Williams and Jack Osbourne, the son of the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is broadcast on ITV.
