Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua will go face to face and address the media on Friday for the first time since confirmation of their blockbuster heavyweight fight.
The high-profile duo will no doubt trade barbs at what is sure to be a lively and headline-grabbing opening press conference held in Miami ahead of their eight-round money-spinning showdown being screened live on Netflix on December 19.
Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua had been discussed in the past but never looked particularly close to coming to fruition, until Paul’s scheduled exhibition bout against WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis was cancelled at 10 days’ notice earlier this month after a civil lawsuit filed against Davis by his ex-girlfriend.
YouTube star-turned-boxer Paul remained determined to take part in a massive fight before the end of 2025 and reached out to the likes of arch-rival Tommy Fury and heavyweight MMA champion Francis Ngannou, among a raft of other potential opponents.
Plans for a low-key return before the end of the year against someone like Cassius Chaney were then blown out of the water by the offer from Paul, with the pressure now on Joshua to make a statement similar to the one he delivered against Ngannou last year as he builds up to a big fight in Riyadh in early 2026 and another likely blockbuster in September that it is hoped will be against Tyson Fury.

Friday’s press conference takes place at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida – home of the NBA’s Miami Heat and the same venue where the fight itself will take place.
Attendance is free and the event is open to the public, with combat sports journalist and broadcaster Ariel Helwani on hosting duties.
The press conference is due to start at 6pm GMT, which is 1pm ET local time.
Paul’s camp have teased another major fight update to come before that at 10am ET (3pm GMT), with tickets for Paul vs Joshua then going on sale at 12pm ET (5pm GMT) following an initial pre-sale on Thursday.
