EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s deputy dunce appeared to find rumours of the president’s death hilarious during a White House press conference, even trying to suppress a cheeky grin at the suggestion
JD Vance appeared to find rumours of Donald Trump’s death hilarious, a body language expert has said. The Vice President was seen trying to stifle a smirk when Trump was was asked about his reported demise during a televised White House press conference.
Body language expert Inbaal Honigman said: “Vance responds to the mention of rumours that Trump died, by trying to hide a cheeky smile behind the President’s back.
“It is a closed lip smile which is turned down at the corners, it is a body language cue which doesn’t express happiness but more of a stifled reaction to an inappropriate joke. This tells us that Vance thinks that the rumours are funny, and sees no harm in them.”
It came as Trump spoke publicly for the first time following days of frenzied speculation about his health. The Orange Manbaby had been subject of bizarre online speculation that he might be dead.
The rumours were sparked after he had not been seen in public for a few days and fuelled when an X account which tracks pizza orders near the Pentagon reported a surge in activity, sparking theories senior politicians and aides were working late due to a major incident.
Vance himself added more fuel to the fire by insisting he is ready to take the top job if a “terrible tragedy” were to happen to Trump.
Trump squashed the rumours when he was pictured leaving the White House for a round of golf and announced the US Space Command would move to Alabama in an Oval Office press conference on Monday.
When he was asked about the social media rumours, a stony-faced Trump said he hadn’t heard of the rumours, before saying: “Last week I did numerous news conferences… then I didn’t do any for two days and they said ‘there must be something wrong with him’.”
He then cracked a joke about his predecessor Joe Biden, telling reporters: “Biden wouldn’t them for months, you wouldn’t see him and nobody ever said that there was ever anything wrong with him and we know he wasn’t in the greatest of shape.”
Speaking to the Daily Star on behalf of Covers.com, Inbaal said: “Trump keeps his expression very neutral, initially pretending like he’s never even heard of these rumours.
“The President’s measured response reveals that he isn’t really in on the joke, he might even find it hurtful. He certainly doesn’t see this topic of conversation as harmless or funny.
“Trump isn’t known for his stoic responses, so if he’s choosing to maintain a totally neutral expression, he must be hiding his true feelings about the matter.
“Shortly after, he makes his own joke about the situation, trying to spin it as if it’s so unusual for him to have taken a two-day break, and when he’s the one cracking the jokes, he breaks into an affable smile, much happier when he’s in charge of the narrative. At that, Vance allows himself to smile broadly and share the joke with his boss.”
