Princess Beatrice has been handed a new role as deputy patron of the Outward Bound Trust, a charity that helps young people achieve their potential through outdoor activities
When Buckingham Palace issued a scathing statement declaring that the disgraced Prince Andrew would be stripped of his titles and Royal honours, it quickly emerged that his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, would escape the same punishment.
Retaining their princess titles, the duo have managed to dodge being completely tainted by the scandals engulfing their parents.
However, they’ll never get their hands on the lucrative lease that Andrew held on Royal Lodge. The fallen Duke has finally accepted he must vacate the grand 30-room mansion near Windsor Castle, where he’d lived with ex-wife Sarah for years, crushing any hopes the sisters had of one day calling it their own.
Andrew is expected to relocate to Sandringham, King Charles’s private Norfolk estate. But Sarah Ferguson won’t be accompanying him to the sprawling 20,000-acre property, instead finding her own accommodation elsewhere. Last week, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie emerged in West London, where photographers captured them embracing each other warmly on the street.
Body language specialist Judi James told the Mirror: “it looks pretty obvious that Eugenie and Beatrice are obtaining some much-needed support and comfort from each other while family relationships implode around them.” The expert commented, “Their parting hug makes them look vulnerable and in need of comfort here.
“Eugenie clings with both arms round her sister’s waist while Beatrice gently strokes Eugenie’s back while their chins rest on each other’s shoulders in a ritual that would normally suggest distress or even grief.” However, amidst the ongoing controversy, Beatrice has been entrusted with a new, prominent role: she is now the deputy patron of Outward Bound, a charity dedicated to empowering young people through outdoor activities and adventures, reports the Mirror.
Her uncle, Prince Edward, currently serves as the Royal patron of the charity, a position previously held by the late Prince Philip for many years. Beatrice recently attended a charity event at St. James’s Palace alongside Prince Edward.
Reports suggest that King Charles fully endorses her appointment, allegedly part of an agreement with Andrew Mountbatten Windsor that his daughters would be permitted to undertake some Royal duties. Royal commentator, Ingrid Seward, shared with The Sun that Charles is making concerted efforts to involve his nieces more actively.
“What it means to my mind, is that the king is determined to embrace his nieces, both Beatrice and Eugenie and bring them into the royal fold in a way where they don’t feel they’re just being gratuitously pulled in, but they’re actually doing something for it.” Seward further noted: “I think that Charles feels quite responsible for these two girls, because it’s been a hideous time for them. Really hideous.”
The specialist further noted that Eugenie’s recent presence at an event for King Charles’s charity, The King’s Foundation, was a “very strong signal” of the monarch’s backing. Outward Bound has expressed its delight at Beatrice’s new role as deputy patron.
Martin Davidson, the chief executive, stated: “With the Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we’re embarking on a new chapter,”.
“One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives.”
