Married At First Sight UK couple Ashley and Grace appeared to confirm the end of their marriage.
Married At First Sight UK star Ashley appeared to signal his relationship status by removing his wedding ring during a heart-wrenching conversation.
The groom tied the knot with bride Grace at the altar, but the duo have been at different pages from day one with countless rows that frequently ended in tears.
On Monday’s episode, the couple were apart, as the E4 experiment appeared to be failing for them while the other couples all enjoyed homestays and meeting each other’s families.
Instead, Ashley confessed that he and Grace might be “too different” as she broke down in tears whilst speaking to one of her friends, alleging she witnessed a side to Ashley that others hadn’t seen.

“The most recent dinner party ended a bit sourly,” Grace revealed. “I spent partner-swap thinking about the marriage, what I can be doing better, doing the work,” she explained, reports the Mirror.
She then alleged that Ashley had made her feel like she was the “problem” and that their marriage was “doomed”.
“I knew full well that if I’m marrying a stranger, I’m going to have to adjust, I’m going to have to change, but it never felt like he was going to do that,” she continued.
She referenced earlier spats they’d endured over Ashley wanting her to wear a dress for a specific dinner and his offer to get her nails done, disputing how she recalled those exchanges.
“I would sit on that couch, hear him twisting things to be more positive and favourable to him, sometimes I take issue with him about something, and he’d be like, no I didn’t, and I’d be like, well how do I argue with you now?”
“Yeah, you feel like you’re going crazy,” her friend responded, whilst Grace revealed she was “bothered” by the whole situation.
“I felt really isolated,” she continued, becoming tearful as she discussed her uncertainty and wondered whether she’d misunderstood their romance.
“Why am I the only person that sees him this way? No, he is doing this, he wants me to feel apologetic, contrived, he wants to be begged for forgiveness so he can feel in control. It’s the self-doubt that’s getting me down,” she wept.
“I’ve had enough,” she declared.
Meanwhile, Ashley, speaking to his friends, confessed he and Grace weren’t in “the best place”.
“I’ve had to think about everything I’ve said, every action I make, I don’t think Grace sees me for who I am, she’s a good person but she lives in her head so much,” he revealed.
“We’ve both put so much into this, I don’t know what to do, every relationship takes compromise, but we’ve both compromised and now we’re at a stage where she’s now what I need and I’m not what she needs.
“I do have feelings for her, and I do care for her, but I need Grace to be a different person, and I feel like she needs me to be a different person.
“When I did say, we’re different people, I felt like a weight had been lifted.”
Removing his wedding ring and declaring he feels “out of options”, Ashley added: “I can’t physically do any more to prove to her who I am as a person.”
Married At First Sight UK airs at 9pm on E4.
