Married at First Sight UK couple Rebecca and Bailey split after the show, and the bride has now opened up about the real reason their relationship ended

Despite exchanging touching final vows, Married at First Sight UK pair Rebecca and Bailey called time on their romance roughly a month following the programme’s conclusion.

The couple announced their separation on social media earlier this week, with 33-year-old Rebecca now revealing the circumstances behind their breakup.

In a chat with Cosmopolitan published on November 20, the aesthetics nurse disclosed that “things changed” once cameras stopped rolling, reports OK!.

Although Rebecca initially had doubts about her new spouse, worrying he didn’t have the ‘alpha male’ qualities she was attracted to, the pair eventually found their rhythm together.

Rebecca explained: “Things changed for both of us when we left the experiment, and ultimately Bailey ended the relationship.”

She added: “As Bailey stated in his recent statement, events that happened as soon as he broke up with me meant there was never any chance of us rekindling things.”

In a lengthy Instagram post, Bailey acknowledged he “didn’t handle the breakup well” whilst avoiding specifics about post-split events.

The MAFS groom has, however, dismissed rumours of infidelity towards his television wife.

“I didn’t handle our break up well and for that I’m truly sorry to Bec, but I was completely loyal the whole way through our relationship,” he penned.

When questioned about her current relationship with her former partner, Rebecca told Cosmopolitan: “We’re now four months on since our relationship ended, and no I wouldn’t class us as friends.

“But I have no ill feelings towards him. What we shared was so special and I’ll always be grateful for that,” she clarified.

Unlike Bailey, the Liverpool bride chose not to release a heartfelt statement announcing their separation.

Instead, she shared a solo Instagram photograph with the caption: “To answer all the questions…. Yes, he fumbled.”

Within days, Bailey appeared to hit back at his former partner with his own social media post.

“Well, that’s all she wrote,” he wrote on Instagram, before thanking fans for his time on MAFS.

In what seemed like a pointed jab aimed at Rebecca, the E4 groom concluded his message with: “Love, Alpha Bai,” apparently referencing Rebecca’s previous doubts about whether he was truly an ‘alpha male’.

Married at First Sight UK is streaming now on Channel 4
