A TikToker claimed to have found a mansion that had been suddenly abandoned, leaving behind ‘top secret documents’, money, expensive clothes and more. The video led TikTok users to speculate that it could have been a ‘witness protection house’ and that the US Government may have made them ‘disappear’.
The video, posted by Stringer Media, started with a view from the outside of what appeared to be a plush family home. But inside, the occupants’ belongings appeared to have been left everywhere, with no sign of anyone home.
There was also a shot of a study room with its contents in disarray, as if somebody may have been frantically searching for something important.
The caption on the video read: “We found this abandoned mansion when we noticed something shocking. Everything was left, but not only that… they worked for the president of the United States…”
At that point the video showed what appeared to be an electronic security fob bearing the words ‘Property of the US Senate’, before two ID cars were seen – one from the Department of State and one from the Embassy of Canada, with the faces blurred out on both.
The caption continued: “The family had simply disappeared, leaving behind money, expensive clothing and more. Even the kids’ bedrooms were left just as they were. The strangest part was, the power was on. Where did they go?”
Next came the shots of the study, with the caption: “Office with top secret documents… everything was just forgotten.”
The video divided TikTok users, with one saying “looks like a witness protection house”, while another agreed, posting: “It looks like they had to get out in a hurry maybe witness protection?” Another replied “a damn government aided disappearance my friend.”
But not everyone was convinced, with one user pointing to potential anachronisms, such as “nineties” computers” and a piece of papare bearing the names of Barack and Michelle Obama.
Another pointed out the “perfectly manicured” lawns and hedges in the opening shots of the video as evidence that the house hadn’t been abandoned.
Stringer Media also recently posted a video exploring what was claimed to be the abandoned mansion of a Saudi prince. Taking to his TikTok page with over 1.5 million followers, he stunned viewers by showing a massive empty property “in Britain’s wealthiest town”.
In the TikTok video, it is unclear where the property was located, but according to Forbes, Britain’s wealthiest town is Windsor, known for its high number of millionaires and its historic Windsor Castle.
