Two men arrested on suspicion of burglary after dramatic pursuit through West Yorkshire saw speeds hit 105mph before car abandoned at caravan site

GMP 10 minute vehicle pursuit
A gang of masked thugs stormed into a house in Oldham before sparking a dramatic 105mph police chase across West Yorkshire.
Around 10:35am on Monday (December 1), residents reported hearing a crash before witnessing three balaclava-clad men breaking into a property in Oldham. The raiders snatched two watches and attempted to steal the homeowner’s Hyundai, though they were thwarted by the vehicle’s immobiliser.
Police later spotted a car connected to the break-in travelling towards Bradford in West Yorkshire. When officers attempted to halt the vehicle, the suspects sped off, sparking a high-speed pursuit that reached 105mph.
Greater Manchester Police have now released dashcam footage showing the black Vauxhall hurtling through residential roads and jumping red lights during the 10-minute chase.
The car was eventually dumped at a caravan site, triggering a foot pursuit. Two suspects were subsequently captured, including one man discovered hiding inside a caravan, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The pair, aged 36 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and failing to stop. A third suspect remains at large, with investigations continuing to track him down.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Police Sergeant Bobby Nasim, TVIU, said: “Crimes like this cause real distress to homeowners and the wider community. Within an hour of this incident being reported, we had made two arrests.
“The suspects showed no regard for public safety, reaching speeds of up to 105mph during busy morning traffic as they tried to escape. We are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist our investigation. Please contact us on 0161 856 4521 quoting log 894 of 01/12/25.”
