Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group will reveal this week how consumer confidence has fared after warning of ‘black clouds’ before Rachel Reeves’ Budget.
The Sports Direct and Flannels owner reports its results for the six months to September on Thursday, having flagged uncertainty over possible tax hikes.
Frasers will be among the first retailers to assess the Budget’s impact on the High Street, with investors set to ask how the Chancellor’s policies – minimum wage and business rates hikes – will affect the group’s costs.

It is also expected to indicate whether it is on track to hit annual profit forecasts of £550m to £600m, after posting £560m for the year to April 27.
