A woman was left mortified when her son’s friend got police-style handcuffs stuck on his ankle, sparking a full-blown emergency rescue, complete with sirens

A mum found herself in a pickle when her son’s mate got police-grade handcuffs stuck on his ankle. The awkward blunder prompted a full-blown rescue which saw firefighters mitake them for her saucy bedroom accessories.

Hannah Frost, from Ramsgate, Kent, was left red-faced after her son’s friend got handcuffs stuck on his ankle. Evidently, the firefighters who had been called to help thought the accessories were the mum’s kinky sex toy.

Hannah’s 12-year-old boy Elliot Huntlea was playing with the handcuffs with his friend, when suddenly, she heard the boys shouting. The 41-year-old mum subsequently found Elliot’s friend with the metal cuffs stuck tightly around the bottom of his leg.

Hannah couldn’t release the cuffs and had thrown away the box with the keys.

As a result, the worried mum took Elliot and his friend to the local fire station, hoping firefighters would be able to easily cut them off. Police were also called to help with the bizarre rescue.

However, officers couldn’t help, and eventually, it was decided to call a specialist rescue team from nearby Deal. They turned on the sirens and blue lights for the 20-minute journey.

Eventually, after an hour, the cuffs were removed by putting a piece of metal against the friend’s leg and using a small saw. “It was embarrassing to say the least,” Frost told What’s The Jam.

She further shared: “I told them they were my son’s. But I don’t think anyone believed me.

“They were just laughing and saying ‘Of course they are’.” The mortified mum added: “Looking back on it all, it was funny, but it was so embarrassing at the time.”

Nevertheless, Hannah said she didn’t blame her son and his friend as they were just playing. They had just tightened the cuffs, which she thought were a kids toy but were actually police-style metal ones, by mistake.

Elliot had reportedly received them as a gift. “Throughout it all, everyone was laughing,” she added.

“So all is good.”
