EXCLUSIVE: Nigel Farage’s Reform UK want children from as young as four to be proud of Britain and will start looking to give teachers a lesson in revising UK history to kick start their plans
Schoolkids could be made to sing the National Anthem – and raise the Union Flag as they do it.
Reform MP Lee Anderson says the daily ceremony – similar to lessons Mad Vlad Putin ordersin Russia – should be made compulsory.
Speaking at the Reform party conference in Birmingham, “50p Lee” told the Daily Star Sunday: “Change is needed, why shouldn’t we be proud of our country?
“We need to start teaching the children what it means to be British, and tell them of all the great things this nation has done.”
Reform leader Nigel Farage has already vowed to make patriotism lessons in schools compulsory if he gets into No10.
A source said the classes would be given to children as young as four.
Farage shouted to cheering crowds: “We will not stand for kids’ minds being poisoned in schools with a twisted interpretation of the history of these amazing islands.
“Most of all we need to make Britain proud again.
“We’ve lost our sense of who we are.
“We refuse to acknowledge publicly the Judeo-Christian culture and heritage that we have, and that underpins everything that we are.
“We refuse to have our kids minds poisoned in schools and universities with a twisted interpretation (of our history). We will not stand for it.
“We will teach them who let us down, which leaders made promises they did not keep.”
Previous manifesto’s pledged a “patriotic school curriculum”, with promises to review the content of history lessons and “ban transgender ideology in schools”.
And one Reform source told the Daily Star Sunday: “This will be from the bottom up, our youngest children need to know it’s ok to be proud of Britain and they need to know how well we have done in the centuries before us as a small nation.
“This starts with the smallest children in school.”
Farage also announced plans to teach trades and services in the school system.
“One thing AI will not replace is the local plumber. They’re going to make a fortune in the years to come. Perhaps they already are.”
And children at the conference as young as 12 backed the plans.
Aiden, 12 said: “Nigel Farage is the only one who is going to save this country. He’s the only man who speaks the truth.
“I’m homeschooled and the only reason I left is because the rubbish they push onto children. We are being taught about LGBTQ agendas and not about history.”
