Paris Fury has admitted she is not ‘comfortable’ with the idea of becoming a grandmother in her 30s, as she opened up on her daughter Venezuela’s engagement to Noah Price
Paris Fury has admitted she’s not quite ready to embrace the role of a grandmother in her 30s, should her daughter Venezuela decide to start a family with her fiancé Noah Price.
The young boxer, aged 18, proposed to Venezuela with a stunning “white gold, diamond band with a diamond solitaire” ring during her 16th birthday bash, witnessed by a crowd of 300 guests.
While Paris and her husband, boxing champ Tyson Fury, aged 37, are overjoyed about their engagement, the prospect of them having children soon doesn’t sit well with Paris. The 35-year-old author, who herself got engaged to Tyson at just 17, confessed to the Daily Mail: “I wouldn’t be comfortable being a grandmother.
“I will smile, but I really don’t think I’m ready to become a granny! I couldn’t be an old-looking granny. I will have to be the youngest-looking granny ever.”
Paris, emphasising that Venezuela is “so confident in herself” and certain that the engagement is what “she wants”, gently nudged her daughter to savour her independence before embracing motherhood and to experience the world.
She advised: “I install into her, Venezuela, enjoy your life, travel, see places, even if it’s them together.
“Although I don’t believe there is anything more fulfilling than motherhood, I still think it’s good to have time to grow as your own person, even though I was 19 when I had Venezuela.
“I grew up being a mother, and I have said many times I wouldn’t change anything. But I do think once you have children, you have to think of them first.
“You are no longer putting yourself first, you have other people to care for, so for that moment, it’s good to wait a while.
“But again, that’s her life to live, and she and her partner will have to decide.”
Meanwhile, Venezuela – who was equally as “shocked” as Paris by the engagement – disclosed that Noah had been suffering from “palpitations” at the thought of seeking Tyson’s blessing for the proposal.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, she said: “I think any boy would be scared of my dad! But it’s the respectful thing to do.
“He said he was having palpitations about doing it, he was all kinds of nervous. It went well, though. My dad wouldn’t interfere, he’s very supportive of whatever I do.
“He’s very happy for us.”
Noah and Venezuela made their relationship public on Instagram in August during York Races, with her confessing they both recognised they were soulmates from day one.
Venezuela shared: “Since we first started going out, he’s always said, ‘I’m going to marry you,’ but I didn’t know when it was going to happen.
“He’s very kind and treats me well. Once you know, you know, don’t you?”.
Along with Venezuela, Paris and Tyson are also parents to daughters Valencia, eight, and Athena, four, plus sons Prince John James, 14, Prince Tyson Fury II, nine, Prince Adonic Amaziah, six, and Prince Rico, two.
