After scoring two goals in Manchester City’s 3-2 victory over Leeds on Saturday, the England star and his family hosted their annual festive celebrations at a festive craft village in Cheshire

After scoring some spectacular goals for Manchester City on Saturday, Phil Foden took a break from the pitch to enjoy festive celebrations with his family at their annual Christmas party.

This year, they went all out by reserving an entire Christmas craft village in Cheshire for the occasion. A number of friends and family were invited to join in the Yuletide merriment on Sunday.

On Saturday, Foden was the star of the show for the Blues, scoring crucial goals in City’s match against Leeds. He found the back of the net just 59 seconds into the game against Leeds, and then clinched victory with a last-minute winner, making it 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium.

So, come Sunday, it was time for well-earned festivities for Foden and his family at their annual family Christmas party. Even Foden couldn’t avoid the Grinch, the infamous green curmudgeon, who showed up and shared a few jokes with the goal-scoring hero at the event.

The venue for the celebrations was Blakemere Village near Northwich in Cheshire. The shopping and craft village is renowned for its elaborate Christmas events, and this year saw the return of its Winter Woodland Trail, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Guests at the Fodens’ party began by strolling through the woodland light trail, before moving on to the main party, complete with festive characters, fairground rides and a live DJ.

Foden, along with his partner Rebecca and their three children Ronnie, 5, True, 3, and baby Phil, hosted the party. Photos from the event showed them thoroughly enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Families enjoyed toasted marshmallows, a comprehensive Christmas market, and younger guests had the chance to decorate gingerbread biscuits as well.

The Grinch couldn’t help but engage in some playful teasing with Foden and his eldest son Ronnie.

The green-faced character was captured in footage shared on Ronnie’s Instagram account, cheekily asking Foden: “Has he been naughty this year again?”.

A chuckling Foden responded “Yeah every year” as the camera shifts to Ronnie, who can be seen telling the Grinch to “hush” in the background.

Foden was quickly back in his element though – clips taken at the celebration by photographer @fotosbyfm showed Foden demonstrating some footie skills as he made his way into the festive marquees to mingle with mates at the party.
