Kitchenware brand ProCook is ramping up its store openings as it seeks to defy the low mood on the High Street.

The firm, whose adverts have featured Celebrity MasterChef winner Lisa Snowdon, is set to open five shops next month.

A £7m investment drive will see stores open in Birmingham, Manchester, Canterbury, Eastbourne and Plymouth. The openings will take its estate to 75 stores as it pursues a target of 100.

Annual sales, driven by popular items such as its Le Creuset-style casserole dishes, rose 11 per cent to £69.5m in the year to March 30.
