EXCLUSIVE: World-renowned war expert, Professor Anthony Glees said Putin needs to be put on the back foot ‘as a matter of urgency’ but described Trump as ‘weak and delusional’

An expert has accused Putin and Netanyahu of “playing Trump as if he were a Nintendo computer game” as WW3 fears continue to ramp up. World-renowned war expert, Professor Anthony Glees warned the recent overnight attack on Poland’s sovereignty was “deliberate” and the UK “could be next.”

It comes after Poland’s Prime Minister, Donald Tusk said his country is at its closest to open conflict since World War Two after four of 19 Russian drones were shot down by Polish and NATO aircraft – marking the first time Russian drones have been shot down over a territory of a NATO country.

NATO has activated Article 4 – a call for consultation over military matters – at Poland’s request while the Kremlin has refused to comment over the incident. Earlier a Russian diplomat in Poland rejected claims of drones in Polish airspace.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Professor Glees said: “We’re told 400 drones and over 40 cruise missiles were aimed at the brave Ukrainian people recently but over the past few weeks Putin has launched wave after wave of lethal missiles at them and their civic buildings.

“We learned that Russia had violated Polish airspace with its Iranian-made Shahed drone strike against Ukraine – according to the staunch ally of Britain, the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He rightly called it out as an ‘act of aggression’. “There can be no doubt that this violation – or to give it its proper if undiplomatic name – this attack on Poland’s sovereignty was totally deliberate and intentional on Putin’s part.

“He is a cold, cynical killer and he wants not just Ukraine to fall under his boot but every single post-1997 NATO member. That will give him the opportunity to control the destinies of all of us in Europe, wherever we live. If we in the UK cannot protect our sea border from thousands of migrants, Putin reasons, we won’t be able protect ourselves from him.”

He added: “British diplomatic voices can be heard saying this was perhaps an error and that only four drones crossed the border with Poland so it would be wrong to say Russia was deliberating targeting a NATO country. “This is balderdash. Whether it’s four or 40, the flightpaths of these drones are very carefully programmed and their flight paths will have been sanctioned by Putin personally.

“There is only one answer to what happened and that it for NATO to launch an airstrike on the Iranian factories producing these drones and obliterate them. Immediately. “We need to put Putin on the back foot as a matter of urgency.”

Glees described Trump as “looking increasingly bewildered, weak and delusional.”

“The limits of his power have been held up for all the world to see,” he added.

Israel could have killed the Hamas leaders operating out of Qatar, claims Glees

“He was not told in time about Israel’s attack on the Hamas leadership in Qatar (he told his Qatari allies 10 minutes after the strike had been completed).

“Israel could have killed the Hamas leaders operating out of Qatar any day of the week for the past 18 months. They chose not to because killing terrorist leaders does not end terror attacks and if you kill the leaders, you have no one with whom to negotiate the release of the hostages you want returned. “What both Putin and Netanyahu are demonstrating to the world is that they have indeed been playing Trump as if he were a Nintendo computer game.”
