Geyser has vanished 11 years after a horrifying attack in which she and friend Anissa Weier stabbed a fellow sixth-grader to please fictional horror character Slender Man
‘Slender Man’ stabber Morgan Geyser is on the run after cutting off her ankle tag and escaping the group home where she was housed. Geyser stabbed a fellow sixth-grader 19 times back in 2014, when they were just 12 years old.
Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier lured classmate Payton Leutne to a park, before Geyser stabbed Leutne 19 times as Weier watched. Incredibly, the victim survived.
The horrific attack became known as the ‘Slender Man case’, named after a fictional horror character who originated from creepy internet folklore and later appeared in a film and video games. After being arrested following the attack, the two girls told cops they wanted to become Slender Man’s servants by murdering their classmate, and that killing her would prevent the spooky figure from murdering their families.
Geyser, now 23, was sentenced to 40 years in a mental health institution after she pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree homicide in February 2018.
She spent nearly seven years in the Winnebago Mental Health Institute before a judge ordered her release in January, after which she stayed in a group home in Madison, Wisconsin.
She has now escaped and is on the run, Wisconsin cops said on Sunday.
“Her whereabouts are unknown as of Sunday morning,” police said, as reported by the New York Post. They added that she was last seen with an adult at around 8pm on Saturday.
In a video statement posted to Instagram, Geyser’s attorney, Tony Cotton, said: “We just heard the news that Morgan has walked away from the group home that she was housed at.
“Obviously, it’s in her best interest to turn herself in immediately and not continue with this course of action.
“We don’t know any of the facts about what happened or who might’ve assisted her. But certainly, if there is someone who might’ve assisted her, that person will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
“If anybody has contact with Morgan, hears from her, or if Morgan happens to see this, turn yourself in,” Cotton added.
“Do not continue to remain on the run like this. It is not in your best interest to handle this matter that way.”
Weier was sentenced to 25 years in a mental health institution after she pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree homicide in December 2017. She was granted release in 2021.
