Alex Kingston became emotional on It Takes Two following her Strictly Come Dancing elimination.
During the latest episode of It Takes Two, BBC presenter Fleur East chatted with Amber Davies and Alex Kingston, after her departure from Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday evening.
Whilst Alex discussed her performance, she revealed sustaining an injury on Saturday morning, which proved a major distraction during her live show appearance.
When questioned about her Saturday experience, she responded: “It was a mixed bag really, I was so excited about going to do the Cha Cha Cha. I absolutely was happy because I knew it was in my wheelhouse.
“But, during the day I sustained an injury that just got more aggravated as the day progressed and so, by the time it came to dancing, that kind of distracted me and took all my focus.”
The actress confided to Fleur that it was disappointing she couldn’t deliver the performance she’d hoped for the viewers or her partner Johannes Radebe because of her injury, reports Wales Online.

Nevertheless, she managed to repeat it during the dance-off and delivered an improved performance.
During the programme, Alex watched a montage of her Strictly Come Dancing journey and became visibly emotional as it concluded.
Dabbing at her tears, she admitted to the BBC presenter that she hadn’t anticipated becoming tearful. When questioned about continuing to dance, she made a touching revelation.
Alex revealed: “I found out on Sunday that my husband, he said to me that he’d kept a secret from me. He has been taking for the last five weeks, Salsa lessons. He’s been learning Salsa so he can be my partner.”
As Alex became tearful, Fleur was equally moved as she responded: “Oh my goodness, you’re going to break me! That’s so lovely.”
The Strictly favourite continued: “He realises how much this has meant to me, this journey and he wants it to continue for me. But he also does want a few tips from you (Johannes).”
During the weekend’s show, the actress landed at the foot of the leaderboard after the panel noticed several errors in her performance with Johannes.
Ultimately, she faced off against EastEnders actor Balvinder Sopal in the dance-off, with the judging panel choosing to eliminate Alex.
Reflecting on her experience with presenter Tess Daly, the actress was full of admiration: “I had never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would last this long. It’s been just the most incredible journey for me.
“I feel quite proud of myself because I’ve loved the process, I mean 100%, you can tell by my smile. Everyone always says that their dance partner is a friend for life, but JoJo really will be.”
Strictly Come Dancing and It Takes Two are both available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
