Porsche has revealed the most powerful production 911 to date with its just-unveiled Turbo S delivering a massive 701hp.
Thanks to innovative ‘T-Hybrid’ technology used in the twin-turbocharged powertrain, the new Turbo S will out-power every other 911 that’s come before it, dating back to the flagship model’s inception in 1963.
Unveiled at the IAA Mobility trade show in Munich, Porsche says the new 911 Turbo S all-wheel drive model ‘combines outstanding performance with a high degree of exclusivity, long-distance comfort and everyday usability’.
But it’s as expensive as it is powerful, starting from a cool £199,100 for the coupe and £209,100 for the open-top Cabriolet, with order books now open.
The new Turbo S reveal comes days after the German sports car maker confirmed the discontinuation of the petrol-engined Boxster having provided 29 years of relatively affordable Porsche ownership and historically saving the German marque from bankruptcy.
Porsche has faced a difficult 2024 and 2025 so far, due to a global EV sales slumps impacting orders for its Taycan model, the introduction of Trump tariffs and plunging demand in China, leading CEO Oliver Blume to tell workers this summer that Porsche’s business model ‘no longer works in its current form’.

New design – the best-looking 911 Turbo S?
Porsche says its ‘cross-series turbo design strategy’ is being introduced in the Turbo S, with numerous contrasting ‘Turbonite’-coloured elements – a Turbo variant exclusive – including the Porsche rest and ‘Turbo S’ lettering on the rear, Turbo S inserts in rear wing slats and centre lock wheel designs.
As to be expected the Turbo S has a wider body compared to Carrera 911s, emphasised by ventilation openings on the rear fascia (panels), as well as redesigned fascia.
Other notable standouts include the titanium exhaust system tailpipes, the dynamic pearl structure above the taillight strip and oval titanium trims.
Inside, Turbonite continues to take hold, and can be found in the door panels, steering wheel, dashboard and the centre console as well as the decorative stitching, seat belts, Sport Chrono stopwatch and instrument cluster.
The coupe comes as a two-seater as standard but you can request a rear seat system for no extra charge – which seems fair when you’ve already spent £200k – and the Cabriolet comes with a 2+2 configuration for the most part.

With 701hp it’s the most powerful production 911 Porsche has ever made but it’s not cheap , starting from a cool £199,100 for the coupe and £209,100 for the Cabriolet

Optimised performance
The new Turbo S’ high-performance powertrain builds on a T-Hybrid powertrain first debuted on the 2024 911 Carrera GTS.
Now further developed, the lightweight T-Hybrid technology with a 400V system delivers an additional 60hp compared to its predecessor, a huge 800Nm of torque and a power curve characterised by an usually broad peak: between 6,500 and 7,000 rpm, the full power of the 711 PS is available.
The hybrid system uses two eTurbos (electric exhaust gas turbochargers), and the same 1.9kWh lightweight battery from the 911 Carrera GTS.
Working through the eight-speed automatic dual-clutch PDK gearbox and – with the aid of all-wheel drive – the Coupe accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 2.5 seconds – 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor.
Foot to the floor and you’ll be able to reach 200mph – best saved for track days and the derestricted sections of German Autobahn.

Frank Moser, Vice President of the 911 and 718 model line said: ‘The 911 Turbo S is the most complete and versatile way to drive a Porsche 911’

Taking to the roads in the 911 Turbo S will sound even sweeter because Porsche has composed a new acoustic exhaust noise for its top model
Braking performance is said to be enhanced thanks to new pads and the increased rear brake disc diameter which also improves pedal feel – as such the new 911 Turbo S is equipped with the largest Porsche ceramic composite brake (PCCB) system Porsche has ever installed in a two-door model.
Porsche also promises that the new generation of tyres used in the Turbo S ‘significantly improve dry handling while maintaining wet performance’ – the rear tyres are wider than the outgoing model while the front tyres remain the same.
Thanks to electro-hydraulically controlled Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control the Turbo S should roll less when changing direction and have increased agility entering and exiting corners.

All of this comes together to deliver an impressive time sheet.
Despite the additional components of the performance hybrid system, the new 911 Turbo is 85kg lighter than its predecessor.
And as such it managed to achieve a 7:03.92 minute lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife – a huge 14 seconds faster than the outgoing Turbo S.

Going that bit extra: Options and ‘timepieces’
Customers contemplating dropping £200k on a new Porsche can make their purchase even more expensive due to the wealth of options available.
This includes over 100 exterior colours, ‘Turbo Exclusive Design’ rear lights and wheels -which use carbon for lightness and flare – and enhance the interior with stitching options, personalised embossing, and customised leather panels.
And for really big spenders, buyers can even splurge on the Porsche Design Timepieces Configurator and design a bespoke personal ‘sports car for the wrist’, requesting a watch to perfectly match the 911 Turbo S in the garage.
These timepiece are made to order and handcrafted at Porsche’s watch factory in Grenchen, Switzerland.
Frank Moser, Vice President of the 911 and 718 model line said: ‘The 911 Turbo S is the most complete and versatile way to drive a Porsche 911.
‘Whether in daily use, on long motorway drives or on the racetrack – we have been able to make the new 911 Turbo S even more comfortable, more individual and significantly faster than its predecessor.’
