A Filipino influencer, TikTok star and model who brought “joy, laughter and love” has been found dead at her home in Los Angeles as investigations into the cause of death continue.
A Filipino TikTok star and model has died suddenly at her home in Los Angeles. The cause of 19-year-old Emman Atienza’s death remains unclear as investigations continue.
Her heartbroken family said said she “brought joy, laughter, and love” into the lives of those around her. Her death was announced by her father, famous Filipino TV host and weatherman Kim Atienza, in a joint instagram post on Friday (24 October)
Emman’s mum Feliciana paid tribute to her daughter in an emotional statement. She said: “It’s with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman.
“She brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her.
“Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her own journey with mental health. Her authenticity helped so many feel less alone.
“To honor Emman’s memory, we hope you carry forward the qualities she lived by: compassion, courage, and a little extra kindness in your everyday life. With love, Kim, Feli, Jose, and Eliana.”
Emman had a huge presence on social media and had amassed almost 850,000 Tiktok followers with her posts receiving nearly 44.5 million likes. She also boasted 224,000 instagram followers.
She was known for being particularly outspoken on important issues such as tackling bipolar disorder, mental health struggles, bullying and body positivity.
The Atienza family are known as one of the Philippines‘ most prominent families, with her grandfather, Lito Atienza, being the former Manila mayor.
Her last video, posted three days ago, was a compilation of her and her friends diving into a lake, rock climbing, and dancing.
On social media, her agency said: “Sparkle GMA Artist Center deeply mourns the passing of Emman Atienza.
“Our sincere condolences go out to her family and loved ones. She will always be remembered as a cherished member of the Sparkle and Status by Sparkle family.”
Tributes also came pouring in from her adoring fans on social media.
One wrote: ” Can’t believe you’re gone. You were always present, silly, fun loving, bubbly and a light to be around. RIP Emman.”
Another said: “You’ll never be forgotten. Thank you for your voice, for fighting with us even in a short period of time. You helped so many people find their will and to see another day.”
