Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs was sentenced to four years and two months in prison on 3 October 2025 after being found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution

Donald Trump’s White House has addressed allegations that he has been considering granting P Diddy a Presidential pardon.

The fallen rapper was handed a four years and two months jail term in October 2025 after being convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution. Diddy, 55, has been kept at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, New York City in the Special Housing Unit since he was arrested in September 2024.

However, he’s reportedly asked to complete the rest of his sentence at a different facility. This week, claims surfaced suggesting that President Donald Trump has been deciding whether to pardon the disgraced artist, reports the Mirror.

This would provide legal absolution for a federal offence, wiping out the punishment and reinstating rights, including voting privileges.

A source alleged that Trump had been “vacillating” in discussions with White House staff, who were apparently pressing Trump not to reduce the sentence. However, a source suggested Trump “will do what he wants” as American publication TMZ reported that Diddy might have walked free this week.

Now, a spokesperson for President Trump at the White House has angrily dismissed the speculation: “There is zero truth to the TMZ report,” they told the Mirror.

“Which we would’ve gladly explained had they reached out before running their fake news. The president, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations.”

Diddy’s high profile trial began back in May, but just two months later in July a New York jury acquitted the rapper of the more serious sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. Combs faced 20 years in prison after he was found guilty of two counts of transportation for prostitution.

The business mogul’s defence team asked that he be sentenced to no more than 14 months, while prosecutors sought more than 11 years of prison time for the rapper. Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to 50 months in prison.
