Ulrika Jonsson has responded to a sick joke about her ex Stan Collymore.

The 58-year-old shared a post by Liverpool Football Club who just signed Swedish striker Alexander Isak for a record-breaking £125m from Newcastle.

One fan wrote: “The best Swedish attacker at Anfield since Stan Collymore.”

It referenced a shocking incident in 1998 when the former Liverpool striker attacked his then-girlfriend in Paris, punching her and booting her in the head.

He later apologised, blaming “petulance, jealousy and possibly having too much to drink” for the “regrettable and avoidable incident”.

Swede Ulrika shared the tasteless Liverpool gag on her Instagram with a shocked emoji, writing: “See what they did there.”

Some fans spread the joke online but others branded it “pathetic”.

Women’s charities blasted trolls for poking fun at the incident.

Gemma Sherrington, CEO of Refuge, added: “When high-profile perpetrators continue to be celebrated, it sends a dangerous message that violence against women and girls carries no consequences, and that domestic abuse is acceptable.”

TV star Ulrika said in 2021 that she wished she’d spoken out about domestic violence, adding: “The psychological and emotional destruction can often be so much worse.”
