Strictly Come Dancing might have come to an end for Tom Skinner, but he is already eyeing up his latest project, that could see him slip into acting as the world’s most famous spy

Strictly star Tom Skinner said he is in 00-Heaven after being linked with becoming the next James Bond. It comes as the former Apprentice star was eliminated from the BBC show after just two weeks.

The rumours started after betting firm Coral revealed it had taken a string of bets on the Essex businessman turned reality star on becoming 007. A number of major Hollywood stars have already been thrown into the mix to play James Bond, including Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill.

But the former controversial Strictly star insists he has not been left shaken or stirred by the rumour mill – saying he would be more than up for filling the role. Although, he admits he may bring a different edge to the world famous spy.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star Sunday he said: “As long as Bond can drive a transit van instead, have curry for breakfast and say ‘Bosh’, then I’m their man.” The ex-Masterchef star’s admission has got tongues wagging, catching the attention of betting agents, who believe Tom could have a shot.

Bookies say they have seen some support for Tom Skinner to be the next James Bond, joining other names that have been shortlisted to replace Daniel Craig. Among the other names seen in the mix are House of Guinness star Anthony Boyle and Wonka superstar Timothee Chalamet.

Skinner’s odds are slightly larger though with him currently 200-1 to fill the role as 007. But betting experts have said that stranger things have happened, and there is always a chance for an outsider to take the role.

“If the latest support in our betting is anything to go by, James Bond may have a new catchphrase in the latest instalment of the franchise, as Tom Skinner is being backed for the role of 007,” said Coral’s John Hill. “The recent Strictly star is a 200-1 outsider in our betting, but that won’t put off his supporters from dreaming of James Bond shouting ‘Bosh’ to the villains in the next movie.”

Skinner will be returning to screens sooner rather than later, making a surprise return to The Apprentice for a brand new celebrity series. The 34-year-old, who appeared as a contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, shot to fame as part of the BBC reality show in 2019.

After this, Tom stirred up controversy for his links to US Vice President JD Vance before he was announced to be taking part in the BBC staple. Things were made even worse for the star when he was revealed to have cheated on his wife within weeks of the couple officially tying the knot, only worsening his reputation with viewers.

In the run-up to the show, he also caused chaos for reporters after he allegedly stormed out of press conferences with his fellow Strictly stars before the programme got underway. He then lasted two weeks on the show, before being given the ceremonial boot from the show by the public and the judges.

After becoming the first contestant to be eliminated from Strictly 2025, Skinner is now confirmed to return to the Apprentice boardroom for a new series filmed in aid of Children in Need. It’s set to be aired over Christmas.
