North England FC will take on their South England counterparts in a match between former Premier League players has been postponed again.

The original date of Sunday, June 1, 2025 had to be postponed due to “existing engagements or injuries” for some of the stars booked, before being rearranged for September 7.

Without any fanfare, the fixture has been taken off the schedule at Charlton.

The game was announced in March, with Robbie Fowler to be a player-manager for the North, while former Tottenham and West Ham boss Harry Redknapp set to be in the dugout for the South.

John Terry is due to serve as captain for the South, with Steve McManaman wearing the armband for the North.

Organisers have said the North team will bring together “local heroes and international stars who share northern roots or have become adopted icons at northern clubs”, with the South side containing a similar mix of “homegrown talent and global stars”.

Date, kick-off time and venue

The game was rescheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2025. No new date has been confirmed.

The Valley, Charlton Athletic’s stadium, was due to host, but have relinquished duties.

Where to watch North England vs South England

A broadcaster for the match has not yet been announced.

It has been confirmed that each squad will consist of 16 players “from the top-flight’s recent past”.

The players involved will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fowler will be both a player and a manager on the day, with the former Liverpool striker relishing the chance to return to the pitch.

“There is obviously an element of fun to the game but I guarantee this will be competitive and serious because it will be great to beat them,” Fowler said.

“This has been an idea in the making for a number of years. It’s a great concept that I hope everyone gets behind. The battle between North and South will always be there, the rivalry will always be there and there can only be one winner, hopefully it will be us.”

How to buy tickets for North England vs South England

Tickets bought for the original June date were refunded. General admission tickets for adults were priced at £15, with over 65s able to attend for £10 and tickets for children under the age of 18 costing £5. Those prices are not expected to change following the postponement.
