Attentions will now turn to Wolves and Ruben Amorim’s side ought to feel confident about a return to winning ways against the division’s bottom team.

Rob Edwards has not been able to change Wolves’ fortunes since being appointed last month, losing all three games in charge as his side remain winless in the Premier League so far this season.

Wolves vs Manchester United team news

Joao Gomes is unavailable for the hosts after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the loss to Nottingham Forest. The midfielder joins Daniel Bentley, Rodrigo Gomes, Leon Chiwome and Fernando Lopez on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Marshall Munetsi and Ladislav Krejci are doubtful for the visit of the Red Devils.

If fit, De Ligt is likely to replace youngster Ayden Heaven who was brought off at half time after being booked early on against the Hammers.

Leny Yoro is also pushing for a recall following a substitute appearance on Thursday night, while Matheus Cunha is expected to feature against his former club.
